Oreo Truffles

IMG_6246.jpg

These 3 ingredient truffles are so easy make that it just doesn’t seem possible that they could look this elegant and taste so amazing. It’s a great project for young kids. They were my daughter Georgia’s favorite kindergarten baking project. No kid’s yet? Just keep them in mind for an easy, impressive, sinfully rich dessert to bring to a potluck. Impress your guests, just don’t let them know how easy they were to make. Let them think you worked all day. Are they healthy? No! Are they awful for you? Yes! Just sometimes you need to cheat. What they are for sure is addictive.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Freezer Time: 15 minutes or longer

Makes: 18

Ingredients:

36 whole oreos, stuffing and all

1 12oz package of whipped cream cheese, use only 8 ounces

1 package of chocolate chips, we used both a package of dark and a package of white chocolate chips

Directions:

First put all of the oreos into a blender with the white stuffing until they are very fine. The white stuffing just disappears into the chocolate cookie crumbs. Combine the oreos and 8 ounces of whipped cream cheese in a medium mixing bowl and mix thoroughly with a mixer. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll the mixture into 2 inch balls. Freeze the balls for at least 15 minutes.

When cold, or frozen, prepare the chocolate. Place a cup of the dark chips in a bowl and another cup with white chips in another bowl.

Microwave one color at a time. Microwave 30 seconds, stir well. If not a thin enough consistency to dip the balls in and coat them easily, then microwave again for 10 seconds at a time until the chocolate is thin enough to dip the balls. Dip half in white chocolate and half in dark chocolate. If you have a wet spoon or any water in the chocolate, it will turn hard. If you microwave the chocolate chips too much, it will turn hard. Dip with one color and drizzle with the opposite color chocolate.

Refrigerate in a covered container until ready to serve.
