Passionfruit Sangria
Passionfruit is such a nice combination of sweet and tart. It’s almost like eating a yummy sweet tart candy. Served cold over ice and on the beach is super refreshing. Red Fish Grill adds Chablis, Whiskey and Rum to their concoction and serves a healthy portion in a tall cylinder mason jar. It just rounds out the flavors. Here in Miami we are lucky to have Palacio de los Jugos. And, I have been addicted for way too many years. To be able to go out and buy any kind of fresh juice from watermelon, to blackberry, to guava to orange to coconut water is just so easy.
Passionfruit used to be hard to come by in some parts of the country. Now it is readily available. Ceres makes a good one. You can also use a frozen passion fruit puree. Just use less, it tends to be more concentrated and passion fruit has a strong flavor.
This recipe is for one 11oz glass. Make it times 5 to use an entire bottle of Chablis. This is sangria that is truly a Miami style Sangria.
